Another stunning traditional pantile roofing project completed by the skilled team at Heritage Roofing Services, this time at a beautiful stone-built property in the picturesque Lincolnshire village of Castle Bytham.

With its traditional limestone walls, distinctive red clay pantiles and charming rural character, this lovely home deserved a roofing restoration that would complement its original appearance while providing reliable protection for years to come.

Our experienced pantilers have delivered just that, carefully restoring the roof while retaining as many of the existing pantiles as possible.

Preserving the Character of a Traditional Property

One of the most important aspects of this project was maintaining the original appearance of the roof.

Rather than simply replacing the existing tiles with entirely new materials, our team carefully removed the original pantiles, sorting them individually by hand to identify those suitable for reuse.

This careful process allowed us to retain as much of the original roofing material as possible, preserving the natural variations in colour, texture and weathered appearance that give traditional pantile roofs their distinctive character.

Reusing original pantiles is particularly valuable on older properties, where introducing entirely new tiles can sometimes alter the appearance of the building.

There Are Pantilers, and Then There Are Pantilers…

Once the existing pantiles had been carefully removed and sorted, our roofing team prepared the roof for its renewed covering.

New roofing felt and timber battens were installed, providing a fresh foundation for the reinstatement of the traditional pantiles. The salvaged tiles were then carefully re-laid, bringing together traditional roofing craftsmanship and modern roofing materials.

The result is a beautifully restored roof that retains the warmth and character of its original red clay pantiles while benefiting from renewed protection beneath the covering.
