Another great roofing project from the team at Heritage Roofing Services, with work now complete, transforming the roof of this converted stable using reclaimed blue slate.

The property features an impressive, extended roofline, and the re-slating work is helping to give the building a fresh, uniform finish while retaining the traditional character that suits its original stable design.

Preparing the Roof for a Quality Finish

A successful re-roof starts with the work beneath the slate. For this project, our team installed high-quality breathable roofing felt and new tanalised timber battens, creating a fresh foundation ready for the reclaimed slate to be laid.

Breathable roofing felt provides an additional layer of protection beneath the roof covering, while the new battens provide the fixing points needed to install the slates correctly.

The Character of Reclaimed Blue Slate

The roof was then re-slated using reclaimed blue slate, combining the natural beauty of traditional roofing materials with the benefits of an expertly installed new roof structure.

Reclaimed blue slate is a fantastic choice for a building like this, offering natural colour variation and a traditional appearance that works beautifully with the property’s red brickwork. The slate brings texture and character to the roof, creating a timeless finish that complements the building without looking out of place.
