The Project

We have had the pleasure of working on a recent project in the heart of Rutland, overlooking the impressive, iconic Viaduct. The property is undergoing a full renovation project and we were appointed as the Roofing Contractor.

A Complete Blue Slate Re-Roof

The complete roof of this home has been stripped back to the rafters and then pieced back together, using TLX Gold insulation to improve the thermal value of the property. TLX Gold is a two in one product of insulation and breathable felt, and is suitable for use on Listed Buildings.

The roof was then battened with new BS (British Standard) batten, before the team laid the highest quality Welsh Reclaimed Slate on the roofs. The existing lead roofs required replacement, and have been recovered with new lead, in the traditional style for this property, and a new lead-cladded wall replaces a worn-out timber cladded wall, minimising the requirement for maintenance to the wood for years to come and a new lead gully for waterflow. These parts of the roof were finished off with corresponding ridge tiles.

The rear roof is awaiting Solar panels, supplied and installed by a separate company, and then we will be back to finish off the rear roof overlooking the viaduct itself.
